Call of Duty probably has one of the busiest months in the upcoming days. While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to launch and Call of Duty Warzone 2 is all but confirmed, out of nowhere Activision confirmed the existence of a mobile-only game.

That title is Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, a handheld port of the hit battleroyale game of the same name. Activision originally announced the title, saying they were working on a mobile version of Warzone. Back then, it was called Project Aurora, and they said:
“Our mission with Project Aurora, the codename for our new mobile title, is to bring friends, families, and people around the world together in a global community of diverse players with a fast-paced, precise, and high-quality battle royale action experience that delivers a fresh new way to play.”
The publisher put Solid State on the development duties. They are the mobile game development studio of Activision. Furthermore, Beenox, Activision Shanghai and Digital Legends are also helping with the game.
The publisher hasn’t confirmed the dates for launch, but it’s claimed to release in 2022. We will know more about Call of Duty Warzone Mobile and the upcoming titles on September 15. On that day, Activision plans on hosting a showcase called “Call of Duty Next.”
