After a long wait, the Dark Souls 3 PC Servers have been restored and are back online. The servers were initially taken down by FromSoftware back in January to prevent an exploit that allowed hackers to take control of players’ computers.
As of now, Dark Souls 3 PC Servers have only been restored. From Software says that they are still working on the fix for Dark Souls Remasted and Dark Souls 2. There is no timeline given as of now, as to when we could see the servers back for both those games.

The Dark Souls Twitter account said, “Online features for the PC version of Dark Souls III have been reactivated.” Furthermore, it also reads, “We are working to restore these features for all other #DarkSouls titles and will inform you when they are back in service. Thank you once more for your patience and support.”
In case you weren’t aware, the exploit popped up during a Twitch stream of Dark Souls 3 and it became viral pretty quick. The exploit allowed attackers to gain low-level access to players’ PCs and steal login info, run programs, or even brick the PC entirely.
Back in February, the developers even had to send out an update that said, “Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware are aware of the technical difficulties players have experience with the Dark Souls games on PC. We want to thank the entire Dark Souls community and the players who have reached out to us directly to voice their concerns and offer solutions. Thanks to you, we have identified the cause and are working to fix the issue.”
The issue could have gotten worse, if the servers were still online, however, FromSoft took immediate action of taking down the servers which helped a lot.
