European holdings company Embracer Group are making strides over the last couple of months with their acquisitions. While a few weeks ago they announced acquiring big-name studios like Tripwire, Lord of The Rings and more, it seems they have more news.
In May 2022, the company announced their intention of purchasing Square Enix’s European studios. It included Crystal Dynamics, Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix Montreal. The purchase essentially gives them the Tomb Raider series, Deus Ex and more.

Today, they announced that Square Enix, the Japanese company and the original parent company for the above-mentioned studios, officially sold them to Embracer Group. This means that the $300 million deal officially between the companies has finished. On top of the major studios, the holdings company also gets access to 50 back-catalogue games.
The company also mentions that they’ll make further information regarding the transaction public at a later date.
