Launched nearly three years ago, Google Stadia was one of the first Cloud Gaming services that initially gained lots of attention. Earlier, the company confirmed that Players will continue to have access to their games library and play through January 18, 2023, so they can complete final play sessions, promising refunds by mid-January, 2023.
Now, as per a new FAQ, it seems Google has started processing the refund process.
“Starting November 9, 2022, Stadia will attempt to automatically process refunds for all purchases of games, add-on content and subscriptions fees other than Stadia Pro made through the Stadia Store,” the FAQ reads.
“We ask for your patience as we work through each transaction and ask that you refrain from contacting Customer Support as they will not be able to expedite your refund during this time. We still expect the majority of refunds to be processed by January 18th, 2023.”
As per the FAQ, the company will try refunding users via the original payment method. If that is not possible, they will mail the user instructions to set up alternate refund methods.
