Hideo Kojima is widely considered an industry icon, and rightfully so. The Japanese game director, writer and designer is well known for his works in the Metal Gear Solid titles and Death Stranding. The other thing Kojima is well known for is the unique gameplay features in his titles.
With Kojima’s habit of trying to innovate, it seems, the upcoming title by him will once again try to do so. In a recent interview with Guardian, the game director spoke about one of his projects. Hideo Kojima says that the upcoming project is almost like a new medium.’

“It’s almost like a new medium. If this Succeeds, it’ll turn things around – not just in the game industry, but in the movie industry as well.” Hideo Kojima also says that the challenge for this upcoming project is building the infrastructure.
“You can have successful experiments. But there’s a long distance between an experiment and a place where it’s something that becomes a part of everyday usage.”
This project could be Overdose, one of the two titles Kojima Productions might be working on. The other one is a rumoured sequel to Death Stranding.
Recently, Hideo Kojima has been proactively teasing his upcoming title on social media. Releasing smart ARGs, the first one revealed actress Ellie Fanning’s involvement in the game. The second woman for the project is also being teased, with a darkened image reading “Where am I?”.
Earlier in June, Hideo Kojima confirmed his partnership with Xbox to create a title for them.
