Team Cherry developed side-scrolling Metroidvania Hollow Knight struck a chord with many players. Featuring beautiful interconnected levels, a memorable story and iconic characters, the title rose to critical acclaim over the years. Naturally, that prompted the developer to announce a sequel with one of the fan favourites from the original game.
While the upcoming sequel Hollow Knight: Silksong hasn’t shown much life after its initial Nintendo Switch Direct reveal in 2019, the developers are slowly unveiling more information.

Now, it seems that not only will it release for PC, Switch and Xbox, but it will also come out for the PlayStation consoles.

The announcement came from PlayStation’s official Twitter account, mentioning that Hollow Knight: Silksong is launching for PlayStation 4 and 5. Neither PlayStation nor Team Cherry disclosed any additional platform-specific features for the title, though we can expect that closer to the title’s launch.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is the sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight. Putting players in the shoes of the lethal hunter Hornet, players will journey through new lands, come across new powers, battle menacing bugs and beasts and unearth secrets which tie to Hornet’s nature and her past.
The game plans to house a whole new kingdom, 150 new enemies and Silk Soul mode, a brand new difficulty aiming to change the game after the first playthrough. Hollow Knight: Silksong will launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. Team Cherry is yet to announce a release date. However, we can expect it sometime next year.
