The Silent Hill 2 remake finally gets announced. Konami officially unveiled the title during the Silent Hill Transmission live-stream event on Thursday, after numerous leaks over the years.

Konami will launch the title on PlayStation 5 as a console exclusive and on PC. Original creators like art director Masahiro Ito and composer Akira Yamaoka confirmed their involvement in the project, closely working with the team.
Mateusz Lenart will lead the Silent Hill 2 project. “Silent Hill 2 is a cult classic, and widely recognised as one of the best games ever made,” Lenart said. “We want Silent Hill 2 to make the same strong impression today that the original game did 21 years ago.”
“While we want to achieve the same result, the player expectations evolve, and certain things need to modernisation to have the same or similar effect.”
Unfortunately, Bloober did not reveal a release date for the title. However, the Steam page is live, where fans can go and wishlist the title.
The announcement officially confirms the numerous leaks of new Silent Hill titles in development at various external studios. The recent one came from the director of the first Silent Hill movie. Furthermore, this is one of the five projects under their revival plans.
