Silent Hill finally gets to see the sunlight it craved for many years. People love the famed horror series by Konami for its creativity and storytelling. Unfortunately, much hasn’t happened with it in recent memories.
Konami previously cancelled the planned Hideo Kojima project, called Silent Hills, burying the fate of the series. Years and a few questionable decisions later, the company seemingly wants to go back to the legendary series.
Announced through an apt Twitter post earlier today, Konami plans to announce the future of the series on 19th October. The event, named Silent Hill Transmission, will reveal updates from the horror game series.

As for the announcement, the details are barely sufficient. However, in preparation for the reveal, Konami published a new website, which sports a new Silent Hill logo.
Additionally, Akira Yamaoka, music composer for almost every game in the series and Masahiro Ito, art director of the first four projects, reshared the announcement. Many speculated their involvement in the project, which is in line with the various leaks over the years.
The announcement can only mean the impending reveal of the rumoured Silent Hill revival projects. Earlier, multiple sources confirmed two projects actively in development. One of them is a remake of the second title by ‘The Medium’ developer Bloober.
The other is the episodic horror title made by a studio under Annapurna Interactive. Furthermore, recently the director of Silent Hill movie confirmed the existence of these titles. On top of this, The South Korean Game Rating committee rated a new title in the country.

This is one of Konami’s plans to revive their legacy franchises, besides a Castlevania and Metal Gear Solid revival.
