Backbone has announced the Backbone One PlayStation Edition Mobile Controller for iPhone users. This new controller has been created in partnership with Sony. According to the maker, the design has been inspired by the PS5’s DualSense controller.
The Controller is compatible with all iPhones and also comes with an adapter included for the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. Since the controller is directly connected to the phone, users can simply snap any iPhone into the controller to begin playing. There is even the Backbone App for customizing the experience.

In a blog post Backbone CEO Maneet Khaira said, “The look and feel of the Backbone One – PlayStation Edition was brought to life by our design team in collaboration with the brilliant minds at PlayStation. The elegant colors, materials, and finishes are all inspired by the design of the PS5 console’s DualSense wireless controller, all the way down to the transparent face buttons and its visually distinctive, floating appearance. It feels right at home with the other products in the PS5 lineup, like the Pulse 3D headset, which you can connect directly to the Backbone One”
The controller gets powered by the Lightning port on the iPhone. There is even an additional Lightning connector for pass-through charging. Along with that, it even gets a 3.5mm headphone jack, a button for capturing screenshots and game clips, and a button to open the Backbone app.
Inside the app, there are various PlayStation integrations, such as the ability to browse game titles. As for the game compatibility, PlayStation games via the PS Remote Play app are said to work out of the box. Along with that games from the App Store, Apple Arcade, and Xbox Remote Play would also work.
As for the pricing and availability, the Backbone One controller is priced at $99.99. It is said to be available to order starting today in white colour. But along with that, there is also an additional black colour option available.
