Elden Ring by Japanese developer FromSoftware was one of the hotly anticipated titles from this year. And it successfully delivered a great experience. Receiving critical acclaim from all corners of the internet, people are clamouring for more content in the title.
While the developers are yet to confirm anything of that sort, they did release a new update. What is interesting about this update, is the mention of a few things in game files.
Firstly, the new 1.07 update brings in separate damage scaling for PvP. This feature enables separate damage scaling for weapons, skills, spells and incantations when fighting other players. The balance adjustment made within this feature won’t impact single-player and co-op.

Right after the update went live, modder Lance McDonald dug out some interesting findings from the game files. As per the Tweets by him, the patch contains references for ray-tracing support in it. Earlier, FromSoftware confirmed that they are working on Raytracing and will release it when it is ready. Maybe the days aren’t too far.
Another interesting finding by Lance is the references to two new maps that don’t exist yet in the game. Many people have been asking for DLCs for Elden Ring, with FromSoftware’s parent company acknowledging this. Maybe the developers have finally started working on the DLCs.
The update 1.07 is currently live on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Check out the patch notes on the official website.
