It isn’t a shocker when people mention God of War Ragnarok as their most anticipated game. The sequel to 2018’s action-adventure game is one of the major releases for the PlayStation console. After initial silence, we finally know when the game is arriving on November 9th.
With the game waiting for the November 9th release, Santa Monica Studios has slowly started revealing info. In a recent live voiced Q&A session on the official Discord, the combat lead designer God of War Ragnarok, Mihir Sheth, confirmed the title having a transmog system (via Mp1st).

For people who don’t know, transmog is a feature in video games where players can wear their favourite set of armour as cosmetic only. In the meanwhile, players can still use gears and their stats completely. They won’t appear visually, however. This allows players to style freely, without worrying about stats.
Q: Since we’re talking about armor. I like to look good, alright everyone at the studio knows this about me. Fashion first for Kratos, of course. I know one of the request for 2018 was the ability to maybe have the stats you want, but you know, give Kratos the runway look you want. So this is a question from SpiritWolf and a lot of other people; Will there be an armor transmog system?
A: Mihir Sheth: The short answer is yes. There is a way to do it…it’s there in the game.
The studio didn’t clarify how the transmog system works in-game. However, it won’t be long, as reviews for the title goes live on November 4th.
God of War Ragnarok will continue the story of Kratos and Atreus from the previous title. The title planned for a 2021 release. Unfortunately, Sony delayed it until this year. The game will launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on November 9, 2022.
