It was via the never-ending flood of fan art on my Pinterest profile that I first became aware of this title. I was immediately mesmerized by the title’s stunning depiction of its characters and environments. The extent of my understanding, though, was as follows:

Bang For My Bucks

After weeks of waiting, I was finally able to get my mitts on the title. My Nintendo Switch served as my primary gaming system, so seeing Hades on discount was a welcome treat. I bought it right away. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from Hades after purchasing it at discount, but it did not let me down in the slightest.

Fantasy games are among my favorite pastimes. Fantasy has always ranked higher than science fiction and reality on my list of favorite forms of literature, and media. And what could be cooler than a story based on well-known legends? Not a lot. There’s an overwhelming feeling of familiarity with practically every figure in Hades predicated on Greek Mythology.

Hades

Whenever I read a line of dialogue or encountered a character I knew from the Greek Mythology I learned as a youngster, I felt excited and energized.

Hades Had My Brain Overflowing With Endorphins

The artistic aesthetic of the gameplay, in addition to driving my mind to make extra endorphins from thousands of allusions and recognizable figure interactions, was a pleasant surprise. When I saw this game, I couldn’t get more of the beautiful 2D imagery that is included.

The character concept is excellent, however, it doesn’t rely too heavily on the mythical figures’ real portrayals. It seemed to me that these figures were given sufficient artistic freedom to be both recognizable and distinctive. I’d gladly pony up my favorite dollars for Hades again to play it on a variety of consoles owing to its excellent sound design and entire gameplay.

The Gameplay Might Appear Slow and Stagnant at Times

But, I need to tell you something too. After completing the plot and reaching the “repetitive grind” phase, I began to lose enthusiasm. I highly recommend Hades if you appreciate sleek and aggressive hack-and-slash adventures. To be honest, the gameplay elements were a lot of fun for me as well.

With a wide selection of weaponry, each complementing a particular way of playing, the video game lets you explore battle in a number of ways. Nevertheless, despite the fact that the Hades is theoretically infinite and maybe replayed for countless hours, I don’t find the pointless grind to be all that interesting.

Hades

To sum it up, Hades is a fantastic title. It’s well worth the money to follow the narrative at least once. You get a lot of bang for your buck, and you can keep playing it forever. I still play it every week and then for a few laps, and I always have fun with the graphics and physics. You should definitely give it a go if you haven’t already.

I’m the guy you see dancing in the rain in the middle of the night. Pursuing my bachelor’s in literature, I love to read and write and I’m somewhat of a decent storyteller. A die-hard fan of Miyazaki and Murakami and my go-to quote is “The past is a foreign country, we do things differently there”.
