2K Games have confirmed that a new Mafia game is officially in development. The game is being developed by Hangar 13, the same studio that made Mafia III and Mafia: Definitive Edition. The developers have not given any more details about the game, yet.

In an interview, Roman Hladíkalso General Manager of Hangar 13 said, “I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”

According to a few reports, the new Mafia game being developed by Hangar 13 could be a prequel set in Italy. The report also suggests that the game would be made using the new Unreal Engine 5. While nothing has been confirmed till now, we could see more announcements related to the game in the coming months.
While there still might be a long time for the new Mafia game, to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the original Mafia, 2K Games has also announced that they would be making the Mafia game free for a limited time on Steam!
