The Witcher 3 recently received a next-gen overhaul and players are already pumped to try the journey again. However, there are players who have already made some progress on their previous consoles and prefer to continue with that.
While it is difficult to load up old PS4 cloud save on PS5, there is an alternative method to do it. This article will give a thorough guide for players to transfer their save files from PS4 to PS5.
Guide to transfer The Witcher 3 save files from PS4 to PS5:
First off, users have to log in to their GOG.com account using their PSN account. This process is mandatory before continuing the rest of the process. After this is done, the following should be done in exact order:
- Load up the PS4 version of The Witcher (updated to 4.0) and go to Save Game/Load Game/My Rewards in the main menu. Once opening the Save Game/Load Game section, press the L2 button to open the GOG account link.
- Use the GOG account link to sync it with the PS4 save game. Once that is done, re-save the game so that it will be the 4.0 version of the save. After this is done, you should see a cloud with a tick icon on the save file.
- Now open The Witcher 3 on PS5, then go to My Rewards, and link to the GOG account as done with the PS4 version. After this players will have the Load Game option to show up. If the step is not done correctly, the option will not show up.
