Xbox has been the topic of the town in the last couple of weeks. One of the key companies in the console market in the current year, the green X logo has become synonymous with tons of things.
Furthermore, Xbox has spent their efforts and energy on numerous projects like Game Pass and recently, Cloud Gaming. Unfortunately, in terms of games, the company has not released any prominent first-party titles in 2023. Much like everyone else, Phil Spencer, the Xbox Boss, also shares the sentiments.
In an interview with the Youtube channel Same Brain, Spencer acknowledged the lack of big first-party titles from Xbox in 2022.

“One thing we’ve heard loud and clear is it’s been too long since we’ve shipped what people would say is a big first-party game,” Spencer said. “We can have our excuses with Covid and other things, but in the end I know people invest in our platform and they want to have great games.”
He says that the 2023 lineup for Xbox will be stronger. Furthermore, he stated that the pandemic caused production delays.
“We’re excited about 2023 and we’ve talked about games that are coming. Those games are tracking well [and] we’re out of what Covid did to the production schedule.”
“But I look at 2023 and there’s a great line-up of games coming that I’m excited about. Getting our first real Xbox first-party games out of Bethesda, having them ship with Redfall and Starfield, will be a lot of fun.”
