Sega’s Ryu Ga Gotoku series, widely known in the West as Yakuza, has become a well-loved series over the world. Part of its popularity is thanks to the dramatic tale through each game and choke full of content.
With the entirety of the series available to play on Xbox’s Gamepass, PlayStation is also adding the games to their service. Announced last night, all eight Yakuza games will be available for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members.

Apart from PlayStation Plus users receiving Like a Dragon for the August games lineup, this month’s subscribers can try out the following games:
- Yakuza 0
- Yakuza Kiwami
- Yakuza Kiwami 2
All three games will become downloadable starting in August. Naturally, people interested to try the games out require a PlayStation Plus Extra Premium membership.
It doesn’t end there, as later in 2022, the rest of the four games in the series will get added. The games are:
- Yakuza 3 Remastered
- Yakuza 4 Remastered
- Yakuza 5 Remastered
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
The remaster for the third, fourth, and fifth game will only be accessible for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, whereas the sixth game will be accessible for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members.
A strange choice for the third, fourth and fifth entries, given that these games are essential to continue following the storyline. So, if one plays the first three games while subscribed to the extra tier and wants to try out the next three games, they will have to get a premium subscription.
Naturally, one requires a PlayStation Plus membership to play Yakuza: Like a Dragon and a PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium membership for the rest of the game. The entirety of the Yakuza series is available to play on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
