Emily “Emiru” Schunk, better known to her fans as just “Emiru” on Twitch, was officially made a co-owner of the multimedia firm One True King (OTK). She’s been a member of OTK for a year now, and she’s collaborated with Mizkif, Asmongold, and Esfand, to name a few notable broadcasters.
Emiru has amassed a following of over 1.1 million on Twitch and more than 500,000 on YouTube thanks to her League of Legends broadcasts. Her time at OTK has been marked by noteworthy incidents, including making comedic films, discussing her experience with the authorities with Mizkif, and speaking out against business controversy.
A fantasy-themed film, in which the broadcaster portrayed a princess who vanquished her opponents (portrayed by other OTK colleagues), to regain her tiara, was shown at the last OTK Shareholders Meeting feed on Twitch, announcing that Emiru will be the company’s co. Emiru thanked everyone for coming out to see the clip and spoke about how excited she was to take on her new duty.
Then, not long after, Emiru gave a hilarious speech that fans equated to a Steve Jobs lecture on how her team members may grow as broadcasters and people. She also said that come June; she will be organizing a tournament called Cosplay Clash, in which twenty cosplayers from all around the globe would be challenged to dress as broadcasters. She said that the initiative aims to raise the profile of cosplay by providing Twitch viewers with the opportunity to witness their favorite characters in costume.
They believe she’s gone a long way from being a lowly broadcaster to assisting in running a huge organization, and many OTK followers have applauded Emiru on the rise. Others have pointed out that this was a clever move on OTK’s part since she will undoubtedly improve the business in some way. On OTK, Emiru assured her fans in December that “everything is going to improve. She may have been hinting at becoming a co-owner even then, but she didn’t give any specifics.
The previous several months have been a tumultuous time for OTK, with problems surrounding Mizkif as well as former colleague Rich Campbell. Both Campbell and the former streamer are facing allegations of sexual assault, with Campbell leaving OTK and the former being placed on suspension.
As most of the OTK broadcasters are buddies, the firm felt the effects of this, with Emiru being one of the most outspoken broadcasters when it came to resolving these issues. With her newfound prominence at OTK, she may be able to put a stop to such scandals in the future.
