Just a Few Months Away
Capcom calls the title a “reimagining of the 2005 classic Resident Evil 4 recreated for 2023 to provide state-of-the-art survival horror.” Resident Evil 4 “conserves the core of the classic gameplay while integrating contemporary gameplay, a redesigned plot, and brilliantly realistic visuals to produce this the newest survival horror game wherein life and death, dread and triumph collide,” according to the official explanation. On March 24th, the game will be available for purchase.
Capcom notes that “a webcam angle is a third-person approach,” which is analogous to the classic Resident Evil 4. “The mechanics have been polished to a current level, increasing the severity of the action, and the visuals have been upgraded to accentuate the sensation of solitude and eerie atmosphere from the previous title.”
The series’s fans had been hoping for weeks that Wesker would make a cameo in Resident Evil 4, but Capcom has said very little about the villain since the project was revealed, leading many to believe that he would not be playable. However, a leak of what looks like concept art has emerged.
As Commander of the Special Tactics as well as Rescue Squad, Wesker made his debut in Resident Evil. The figure has always played the role of the bad guy, plotting the extermination of the human race and the enforced mutation of its remaining members. Former Umbrella Corporation scientist Wesker gained supernatural abilities after infusing himself with a form of the Progenitor infection, only to be killed by Chris Redfield in Resident Evil 5.
