The announcement was made on Twitter and it reads, “We’ve made the decision to delay ARC Raiders to 2023. ARC Raiders is an ambitious game, and we will be using this time to expand the experience, and allow it to reach its fullest potential.”
Later, the studio also revealed that it also has other projects in development, including a team-based first-person shooter. They’ve decided to let that project be their first game to market, which pushed Arc Raiders to a 2023 release.
In a statement, Söderland said, “It’s a decision that will also allow us to expand and refine the Arc Raiders experience.” He also revealed that Arc Raiders will now include an extra PvP mode. While we’re still not sure about the exact launch date, more information about it should be revealed later!
As for the game itself, Arc Raiders is from the ex-Battlefield developer Patrick Söderland’s Embark Studios. According to the initial announcement, the game is going to be a free-to-play third-person shooter. The game is in development for PC and Consoles. It is said to be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC via the Epic Games Store, Steam, and Nvidia GeForce Now.
