Ubisoft is bringing back a beloved feature to the Assassin’s Creed franchise with the introduction of outfit dyeing in the upcoming game, Assassin’s Creed Mirage. This feature, which allows players to customize the colors of their character’s outfits, was last seen in earlier titles like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, released over a decade ago.
Over the years, the Assassin’s Creed series has evolved its approach to outfits and character cosmetics, reflecting the changing eras explored in the games. However, one notable distinction is the absence of a season pass system in older titles, particularly those featuring the iconic character Ezio Auditore. In games like Assassin’s Creed 2 and Brotherhood, Ubisoft introduced a highly regarded dyeing feature that allowed players to customize the colors of their outfits. Although this feature was not carried forward in subsequent games, it is making a comeback in the highly anticipated Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The official Assassin’s Creed Mirage Twitter account recently shared a video announcing the return of the beloved outfit dyeing feature. The video provided a glimpse of the various hues that players will have the option to choose from, allowing for a more personalized gameplay experience.
In addition to the dyeing feature, a behind-the-scenes video offered a fascinating look at the character development in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Basim, the game’s main protagonist, will undergo different stages of training, each accompanied by a distinct outfit. During his apprentice stage, Basim will be seen wearing a white outfit, while he will eventually acquire the iconic red sash once he becomes a master. Fans may recognize this red sash from Basim’s appearance in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Alongside the outfit dyeing feature, Ubisoft is going the extra mile to cater to fans of the Assassin’s Creed franchise with the upcoming release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. In a nod to nostalgia, the game will offer a desaturated blue-grey color palette reminiscent of the visuals from the very first Assassin’s Creed game. This addition aims to rekindle the fond memories of the series’ origins and provide players with a throwback experience.
Furthermore, Mirage brings back the beloved social stealth mechanic, a signature feature of the Ezio saga. Players will be able to witness Basim employing social stealth by paying off certain factions, allowing him to blend in seamlessly and vanish, just as Ezio Auditore did in previous titles.
Alongside the returning features, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is also introducing exciting new combat mechanics to enhance the player’s experience. Basim, the game’s protagonist, will have the ability to perform Chain Assassinations, a feature inspired by Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell Blacklist. This new addition allows for swift and consecutive eliminations, adding a dynamic and efficient approach to combat.
In addition to Chain Assassinations, Basim will have access to a variety of new stealth gadgets that aid in executing unique assassinations and navigating challenging situations. These tools will offer players strategic options to adapt their playstyle and overcome obstacles with finesse. Furthermore, the parry mechanics in Mirage have undergone significant tweaks compared to older games. Perfectly timing a parry will not only block incoming attacks but also provide an opportunity to stagger and swiftly dispatch enemies. T
