Battlefield 1 by EA has arguably helped repopularise the well-known first-person shooter series. Developed by EA and DICE, the title saw the players go back to the WW1 era, fighting in large maps and using WW1-era weapons and vehicles. Many also credit the title to be a worthy follow-up to Battlefield 4.
Unfortunately, over the years, both Battlefield 5 and Battlefield 2042 failed to re-capture the magic of the previous entry. Naturally, that prompted players to revisit earlier games, so much so that Battlefield 1 saw a resurgence.

First spotted by Emopulse, the 2016 shooter saw a massive jump in popularity. This resulted in Battlefield 1 seeing its largest player count ever. Some detailed numbers show that the player count reached 49,732 over the past 24 hours. That is 44,000 more players than the latest Battlefield entry, Battlefield 2042.
The prime reason for this growth can be attributed to the game getting sold for a discount. As of now, the title is available to purchase for $4.79/ INR 299.
In recent Battlefield-related news, Electronic Arts revealed Ridgeline Games, a new Seattle-based studio established in October 2022 taking over the duties to create a new narrative campaign. This campaign will take part in the Battlefield universe. Furthermore, a new Battlefield 2042 adds new map reworks and new weapons.
Battlefield 1 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Battlefield 2042 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
