Bungie is apparently looking into a glitch that swept off gamers’ Triumphs and Seals achievements after yesterday’s weekly rollback, which has caused Destiny 2 to remain down for more than 16 hours. Push square said that the videogame was pulled down shortly after the reset because many users had realized that their seasonal Badge, Triumph, as well as weaponry catalyst achievements, had been wiped. As a result, gamers’ efforts throughout the season were for nothing, prompting Bungie to temporarily shut down the service while it worked on a patch.
Immediately following the reset, Bungie issued a statement saying it was looking into the problem, which had apparently escalated to an alarming level. Since taking the game down, it has tweeted multiple bulletins, the most recent of which reads, “Our inquiry and screening continues. Just so we’re clear, we won’t be able to tackle this problem right now. It has also projected that a remedy would be deployed today between 3 and 4 p.m. PST. However, it has cautioned that this timeframe is tentative.
Another worrying problem has surfaced in the last two weeks. An earlier complaint indicated that a player’s whole personality had been deleted after an error code had appeared on the character-choosing screen. After discovering this was an isolated incident, Bungie quickly responded by assisting the player in restoring their character. As gamers know all too well, sacrificing a player in Destiny 2 meant losing years of development, and this fact alone terrified the living daylights out of them.
To make matters worse, an exciting event for this season’s narrative quest was scheduled for this week, but the program had to be pulled down before it could take place. The change where Blue engrams no longer drop after gamers exceed the soft power usage was also scheduled for yesterday; however, the engrams seem to be fighting back.
Bungie is also undergoing important adjustments to the mod system and providing gamers with custom load-outs for the forthcoming Lightfall DLC. As the DLC’s release date of February 28 approaches, additional details about the adjustments will be revealed.
