Judgment and Lost Judgment are Apparently Going to PC – Rumor

The series never saw a PC release because of Takuya Kimura's Talent Agency "protecting the image of their talent."

SEGA and RGG Studios’ Yakuza spin-offs Judgment and Lost Judgment welcomed series fans to a familiar yet distinct tale. While Yakuza was known for its brilliant tale of Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga through their respective hardships, the Takuya Kimura-led story gets credit for a darker tale. One which sheds light on the many loopholes in the Japanese law system.

Seemingly the action beat-em-up title set in a Detective backdrop might get its long-due PC release.

First spotted by the Twitter user and the known lifeline for videogame news coverage people like us, Wario64, the ESRB recently rated both the RGG Studios title. Both the titles got a Mature 17+ rating for PC, sparking the speculations of the title heading to PC.

Of course, it is worth noting that this doesn’t confirm anything and can be a mistake on ESRB’s part. However, in the past, we’ve seen numerous titles leaked through ESRB ratings. Grasshopper’s No More Heroes release on PC was leaked thanks to ESRB rating the title.

Unfortunately, while Judgment gained its respective fanbase in Japan and the West, the series’ future was uncertain. In 2020, SEGA started porting most of its titles to PC after the immense success of Yakuza 0 and many other titles. Naturally, they wanted to port both the Judgment games to PC.

However, the talent management agency Johnny & Associates stopped them from doing so. The reason: protecting the image of Takuya Kimura, who plays the lead role of Takayuki Yagami in the game. This made the developers seek alternatives or ditch the series altogether.

If the series does come to PC, it only means that the developers and the talent agency finally reached an agreement. Given that RGG Summit 2022, RGG Studios’ showcase is later today, we might get a confirmation on this soon.

Judgment and Lost Judgment is currently available to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
