The launch window for Final Fantasy 16 has been the subject of much speculation lately, and an alleged date has now surfaced online before the scheduled revelation at The Game Awards. However, because the information is not coming straight from Square Enix, aficionados of Final Fantasy 16 might also want to label their schedules.
Yoshi-P, the developer of Final Fantasy 16, hinted a few weeks earlier that the game’s rollout time frame will be revealed before the conclusion of the year, and since then, everyone has been looking to The Game Awards as the likely venue for this revelation.
Soon after, it was reported that pre-orders for the title will begin around the day of The Game Awards (which has already been confirmed to take place on December 8) and that Yoshi-P would be making an appearance. There’s a lot of buzz about this possible announcement, and the newest twist is that the release date could have leaked online.
Not Free of Flaws
Like ogres, though, this leakage has several strata. It seems to have been sparked by a teaser/poem sent on Twitter by a person known as “The Snitch,” who has a history of providing reliable leaks. The most plausible explanation for this whistleblower is that they are an insider at YouTube who has access to restricted content, which would make it possible to see a new trailer intended for The Game Awards. However, Insider Gaming’s interpretation of the tweet, which includes the release date, makes more sense, given the message’s focus on crystals and the game’s history.
It’s worth noting that this time frame isn’t the first to be discussed for the title. Fans speculated that the “Valisthea 6.16” date seen in the PlayStation Showcase’s introduction in 2021 may represent the delivery date for Final Fantasy 16. However, at the moment, fans speculated that it may be published in 2022; with the 2023 timeframe being established, it’s plausible that this was the timeframe all along.
According to reports, Final Fantasy 16’s production has been proceeding well, and the game’s launch on either June 16 or June 22 would be in line with this. Also, Thursday, June 22 is a Thursday, yet most US video game releases occur on Tuesdays or Fridays. However, this doesn’t make it any less plausible, since certain titles do deviate from this trend on occasion and Square Enix has a history of doing so. But by The Game Awards, viewers may have learned the truth.
