The Nintendo Switch is still one of the best gaming consoles available today. As per NPD, the handheld platform hybrid continues to be a top-selling product week after week. Despite this, Sony’s PlayStation 5 led April’s dollar earnings thanks to the arrival of fresh inventory at U.S. commercial outlets, whereas Xbox Series X/S lost its chart-topping position in March and dropped to the 2nd spot for dollar sales.

Considering how poorly the equally inventive Wii U had worked for Nintendo, it’s easy to forget that when the former was first launched in April of that year, there was a lot of concern that customers wouldn’t comprehend its hybrid system’s purpose. A mere five years after its release, Nintendo’s long-running Wii platform has been overtaken by the Switch as the company’s best-performing gaming device.

The Report By NPD States-

NPD reports that overall purchases of the Switch in the United States have now overtaken those of the PlayStation 4 and it has moved up to the rank of fourth greatest performing system in the country’s history, after the PlayStation 2, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s beloved Wii. When it comes to US sales data, the Wii has delivered 30 million units; the Xbox 360 has moved 38.8 million, and the PlayStation 2 has shipped 46.4 million in the country (figures via NPD).

As of March and through the first half of 2022, the Switch is the most popular system in the United States, with Microsoft’s Xbox Series trailing behind it as the 2nd most common platform. Nevertheless, the Xbox series has produced the most money of any system thus far this year. – Xbox Elden Ring has been a noteworthy top seller for FromSoftware, according to NPD, and it has beaten out all other products in the company’s catalog.

No other title from Activision has been able to topple Elden Ring this year or over the last 12 months, a distinction normally held for some of the company’s most faithful blockbusters. American gamers appear to be flocking to the Lands Between.
