Overwatch 2 by Blizzard Entertainment took the world by storm. The sequel to Blizzard’s hero shooter Overwatch provides a new, familiar experience for newcomers and seasoned fans. With the game going through its first season, Blizzard disclosed that more than 25 million people played the title in the first ten days of availability.
While the developers are addressing the character balances and microtransaction complaints actively, Blizzard officially unveils the next new character coming to Overwatch.
Ramattra is an upcoming hero who has been part of the game’s lore for over three years. He first appeared during the Storm Rising event in Overwatch 1. Blizzard revealed the hero at the Overwatch League Grand Finals and will join the game on December 6. Additionally, the title’s second season of content will also start rolling out on this date.

The character description gives a quick detail about the background of the character. “Originally a war machine, Ramattra shed his munitions for a shield to protect his people by promoting peace and tranquillity,” the character description read.
“His ideals weren’t far removed from his fellow Shambli monk, Zenyatta. However, Ramattra’s story is one of the hardships, trauma, and a magnified view of humanity’s harsh realities.”
Currently, it is unknown whether the character will appear on the battle-pass and whether players have to unlock him to play in competitive, much like Kiriko from season 1.
Overwatch 2 had an initially rocky start, coming under backlash from the community for the mandatory mobile verification to play the title and the constant server problems. Blizzard addressed both these problems after the launch swiftly.
Overwatch 2 is available to play for free on PC via Battle.net, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. Check out the trailer for Ramattra down below.
