Get ready to play Overwatch 2 multiplayer for the first time when the game’s PvP beta begins in April 2022. Five heroes, four maps, the new Push mode, and more will be available in the beta. The April beta, titled “Overwatch 2 PvP Beta 1” by Blizzard, will include a lot of new content for seasoned players to try out.

The closed alpha test is already running but you will most likely be unable to join in the closed alpha test for Overwatch 2’s PvP because the closed alpha test is only for Blizzard workers and Overwatch League players. Below is a complete list of what will be included in the beta.

Overwatch 2 PvP Beta Details

  • Team size reduced from 6v6 to 5v5
  • There are four new maps.
  • Royal Circuit (Escort Map)
  • Located in the heart of Manhattan (Hybrid Map)
  • Queen Street has been renamed New Queen Street (New Push Map)
  • The Colosseum (New Push Map)
  • The ping system has been updated.
  • Sojourn, the 31st hero, makes his long-awaited appearance.
  • Bastion, Doomfist, Orisa, and Sombra get hero reworks.

In addition to beta testing, Blizzard has indicated that it would adjust the game’s release approach by separating the PvP and PvE experiences. This will allow you to get your hands on the new PvP content sooner, while the team continues to work on PvE.

Blizzard also addressed a development update with Aaron Keller, the new Overwatch director.

“I want to thank our players for your continued support,’’

Keller said.

“We recognize we haven’t communicated well, haven’t kept you up to date, and honestly, we’ve let you down when it comes to delivering Overwatch content. We hear you and we’re committed to more continual updates on all things Overwatch 2.”

These alpha and beta tests will focus on Overwatch 2’s PvP aspects. There are four new maps, a new game style called Push, and five-vs-five gaming. Overwatch 2’s hero reworks are a big part of the game. Players may now test important modifications to characters like Reinhardt, Bastion, and Sombra with these beta opportunities

On the game’s official website, players can apply for access to the Overwatch 2 PvP Beta 1. Players will be granted access in stages, with more to come in future beta phases. Blizzard has yet to announce an official release date, although the beta will begin in late April as you know now.

For players, all cosmetics and progress from the original game will be carried over, as they announced when the game announcement launched back in 2019.
