2022 has arguably been the year for indie games, with great experience bracing all of us. Sifu by Sloclap is one such game. Inspired by Cantonese Kung-Fu movies and media, Sifu pays tribute by creating a brilliant beat-em-up. Post-launch, the developers have added many updates to the game drastically changing how it plays, for the better.
Following the game’s Spring update, Sloclap announced the release date for the next major update for the title. The free Summer 2022 update focuses on providing the players with more options to play the game. It adds gameplay modifiers and a new scoring system.

The gameplay modifiers swing in both directions, bumping the challenge up or simplifying it. The modifiers will also allow players to create their hardcore runs by making enemies stronger, reducing the character to a single hit point and removing ageing and guarding.
The new scoring system reflects the fighting finesse of a player. The new system will take every punch, kick, sweep and finisher into account. Taking out enemies without getting hit will award players with a score worth flaunting.
It doesn’t end there, as the update also introduces two new outfits. Accessible in the Wuguan, the Enforcer armour covers up the protagonist in a tactical armour suit that will become available for deluxe edition owners. The second outfit, accessible to everyone, is Master Hand. It features a sleek trench coat and a stylish hat, challenging players to avoid incoming attacks to keep the look intact.
All of this will come with the upcoming free Summer update, which will go live for PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on August 31, 2022. Check out the new trailer down below.
