Felix “xQc” Lengyel, well known on Twitch as Felix “xQc,” has left the Luminosity Gaming esports organization (LG). In October of 2020, he became an LG content producer and helped the company set a new benchmark for online video consumption.
According to Dexerto, as of December 2022, xQc has amassed 227.23 million subscribers, making him one of the most popular Twitch broadcasters of all time. In 2021, LG had 40 million watches across all of its producers, with the vast majority coming from xQc, and was, therefore, voted the #1 esports audience on Twitch according to watch time.
LG released a video montage of xQc’s finest broadcasting highlights to mark his departure from the organization after more than two years, signing out with a simple “Thank you, xQc.” The streamer not only retweeted the clip with a blue heart to signify his resignation from LG, but he also quoted it. As of this posting, xQc has not addressed fans’ questions regarding whether he resigned from or was terminated by LG.
While many of xQc’s viewers were sad to see him go, they all offered him the best of success in whatever he decides to do next, whether that’s joining a new organization or just continuing to build a legacy on Twitch. Some have begun making educated guesses as to xQc’s future direction, including well-known esports companies with content creation programs like 100 Thieves as well as Evil Geniuses. People still want xQc to return to the Overwatch professional scene five years after being cut from the Dallas Fuel.
xQc has been a divisive figure in the streaming community, but his success as a result of his engaging broadcasts and his signing with LG is without dispute. He has amassed a dedicated following of Twitch viewers that tune in not just to witness him play games but also to follow the unfolding of his personal dramas, such as his tumultuous split with Adept.
At this stage in his profession, it’s reasonable if xQc chooses to pursue his own thing, although it’s still unclear whether he’d attend another org. His current activities include Minecraft speed runs, gaming on Valorant as well as Phasmophobia with pals, and streaming on the Just Chatting channel. Unless he intends to hold major Twitch tournaments in the future, he won’t need the support of an esports organization.
