Between The Lanes is a new Dota 2 blog feature. Developers walk the readers through various challenges they had to face in the development of the game. This includes various bugs, fixes, and happy accidents they came to face while working on the game. The number of interactions Dota 2 devs gets are a lot while tweaking the game. Hence, they would love to talk about it with fans of the game.

Dota 2 is a 5-v-5 Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, inspired by the popular Warcraft 3 mod, Defense of the Ancients. The game is one of the most popular multiplayer games as its community keeps growing over the years.

What does Between The Lanes entail?

The purpose of these posts is to provide Dota 2 players with a behind-the-scenes peek at how the game is developed in between patches. The blog will cover a variety of topics, including the difficulties that the development team faces, such as enduring bugs and unforeseen obstacles. In order to keep the game fresh and interesting, Valve replaced the conventional Battle Pass system with more regular updates.

Dota 2 fans now have the chance to follow the development process and acquire insightful knowledge on the team’s difficulties as they work towards the upcoming significant release. Among the notable bugs addressed is the infamous Techies’ sticky bomb bug. The bug enabled players to control the ability without an expiry timer. The swift patching of this bug has brought relief to the Dota 2 community. By making it impossible for players to operate the Sticky Bomb in Dota 2, Valve solved the issue. This makes sure that the series of modifications work as expected and causes the Bomb to detonate as intended.

In a lighthearted manner, Valve acknowledged that while they had corrected the Sticky Bomb problem. It was possible that they had unintentionally created a new one. The devs welcomed the Dota 2 community’s help in identifying and fixing any such bugs. By adopting an open approach to continuing game development and enhancement they involve their fans as well.
