CEDEC has announced Hidetaka Miyazaki as the recipient of its special award. This is basically the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award for those unaware. Miyazaki is receiving the award because of his latest work, which is Elden Ring. The event will be taking place from 23-25th August and Miyazaki is set to receive the award on the last date.

With this award, Hidetaka Miyazaki has joined the list of some of the most famous creators. Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto was the first person to receive this award. Other famous personalities like the Dragon Quest creator Yuji Hori, Namco founder Masaya Nakamura, ‘father of the PlayStation’ Ken Kutaragi, and Sega’s arcade god Yu Suzuki has also received this award.

The latest work “ELDEN RING” has achieved a quality and volume that greatly exceeds the past works as a culmination of the past, and has recorded a big hit with extremely high praise from users all over the world. His award-winning titles have attracted the attention not only of game fans but also of game creators, and his production methods and skills continue to stimulate and influence the game industry.”
