Valve is releasing Counter-Strike 2, the highly anticipated sequel to their competitive shooter CSGO, this summer of 2023. The game will feature the updated Source 2 engine, which includes several new features such as 128-tick servers and an enhanced smoke system.

Additionally, Counter-Strike 2 will include under-the-hood changes like a grenade cam in custom mode. This new feature can help players create new lineups to increase their chances of winning in each game. However, the specifics of how the grenade cam will work in the game are yet to be revealed, thus we will do that for you.

Counter-Strike 2 nade-cam explained

The new nade-cam very helpful for both novices and experts in the upcoming CS2. In Counter-Strike 2, during competitive matches, players are not shown where their thrown projectiles will land. However, in custom or offline mode, players can view a more detailed display at the bottom of the screen.

Contrarily, in Valorant, players can also preview their placements and use their abilities to their full potential, simplifying the process of obstructing the opponent’s vision. Counter-Strike 2’s ranked and unranked matches do not provide the same, but players can use the custom mode to practice and experiment with different positions to throw smokes at specific locations.

The nade-cam also displays the projectile’s landing point, providing a helpful tool for all players. The feature enables novice players to familiarize themselves with the game’s projectile system while expert players can create new lineups for use in main games.  CSGO has the option to show projectile trajectory in customs before using a command. However, Counter-Strike 2 is integrating this as a permanent feature in its upcoming shooter.

Combining the nade-cam with the trajectory can increase the efficacy of players’ utilities and benefit the team in many ways. The community can also share various lineups previously unknown, helping the shooter franchise to evolve.
