A quick glance at Hideo Kojima’s social media username would lead you to believe that he is involved in the entertainment business. The renowned video game designer is clearly an avid cinema fan who enjoys seeing movies from all around the globe. Unless he has a secret cache of 3D celebrity heads, the guy also analyzes the faces of every famous person he encounters. This is likely for use in an upcoming video game. Kojima has confirmed his intention to direct his own movie, for those who were curious.
Hideo Loves To Tackle All Genres of Entertainment
According to Famitsu, Kojima earned the cultural prize at the Japanese Anan Awards for his contribution to Death Stranding and talked about his inspiration for the game. Even if developing video games is his profession, he claims that all creative areas are intertwined in digital works, inspiring him to branch out from games into other creative mediums.
Kojima has never openly revealed his ambition to produce pictures or songs, despite his Twitter is full of comments regarding flicks of all genres. The filmmaker has already begun working toward this goal by establishing a new Kojima Productions facility in Los Angeles, which will serve as a hub for television, cinema, and recorded music.
“The team has as its charter, the goal of expanding the reach and awareness of the properties now under development at Kojima Productions, and to make them, even more, a part of our popular culture,” stated studio executive Riley Russell at the time. “Although we are a global organization, the new business development team will be centered in Los Angeles, CA. We are truly excited and looking forward to working with the very best entertainment talent we can, across all of the entertainment industries.”
Although there has been no official indication of what initiatives this department is focusing on, it seems likely that Kojima will use it to make progress on this goal of his. We are aware that an animation venture is being developed by Kojima Productions, but no new information has been shared about it since January.
