God of War Ragnarok by Sony’s Santa Monica Studio received widespread critical acclaim. With the title receiving rave reviews for every aspect of the game, seemingly, Santa Monica Studio has started moving on to other projects. At least, that is what studio creative director Cory Barlog says in a latest interview.
Speaking with LA Times, Barlog, the creative director of God of War Ragnarok, says that the team is spread out. Each team in the studio is responsible for a different project. Unfortunately, he did not go on the specifics.
Some more specifics from the interview include Ragnarok director Eric Willaims saying he’d happily dedicate himself to the series.
“I remember talking to someone from another game company, where they were trying to get me to leave,” Williams remembers. “They said, ‘Do you just want to be known as the God of War guy for the rest of your life?’ That was your big pitch to dissuade me? Because yes, I kind of do.”
Earlier, Santa Monica Studio acted as an incubator and publisher for indie studios such as Journey by Thatgamecompany, Twisted Metal by Eat Sleep Play and more. Additionally, Santa Monica Studio also helped Ready at Dawn to create The Order: 1886.
What these in-development projects are, only Sony and Santa Monica Studio know. However, their latest title God of War Ragnarok is currently out for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
