Spider-Man 2 Limited-Edition DualSense, and PS5 Controller Revealed

At the 2023 San Diego Comic Con, they unveiled a super cool limited edition Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PlayStation 5 and a matching DualSense controller. The convention is going on from July 20-23, and everyone’s excited about the Spider-Man 2 presentation. The developers from Insomniac Games and some of the actors working on the game were there to chat with fans.

During the presentation, they spilled some exciting details about the game, like the plot and characters. And guess what? In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, players get to visit Aunt May’s house in Queens, New York, along with other famous spots in the city. It’s going to be a wild adventure!

Exciting news after the Insomniac panel at the Comic Con! They revealed a special Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 limited-edition PS5 bundle that looks super cool. The PS5 will have black symbiote tendrils spreading over the classic red color and spider logo. How awesome is that! The bundle comes with themed console covers and a matching DualSense wireless controller. You’ll also get a digital standard copy of the game and some sweet pre-order goodies. If you already have a PS5, don’t worry, you can still purchase the accessories separately.

Mark your calendars! Pre-orders for the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle open on July 28, and the individual items will hit the shelves on September 1. It’s going to be a web-slinging adventure!

The covers and controller design for the Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle were a collaborative effort with Insomniac Games, and Jacinda Chew, the studio’s senior art director, shed some light on the theme. The inspiration came from the in-game symbiote that’s taking over the console and controller, creating a striking look. Even with the symbiote tendrils, you’ll still be able to catch a glimpse of the underlying red, adding a cool touch to the overall design. It sounds like a perfect match for the thrilling adventure that awaits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2!

Spider-Man 2

The PlayStation 5 made its debut in November 2020, but gamers were a bit bummed by the lack of limited-edition versions for a while. However, it seems like the dry spell is finally ending, with Sony starting to release themed face plates and controllers more frequently. They’ve rolled out cool stuff like a God of War Ragnarok controller, Final Fantasy 16 console covers, and DualSense controllers in select regions. Plus, the LeBron James PS5 covers and controller are hitting stores on July 27.

But the real showstopper is the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle! It’s the first themed PS5 since the console’s launch, and fans of Insomniac’s Spider-Man games are over the moon. Why? Because this third entry in the franchise will let us play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, working together as a team. Plus, the notorious symbiote has bonded with Peter, raising hopes that we might even get to play as Venom at some point in the game. How cool would that be?
