Players looking forward to trying out the upcoming shared-world survival game Nightingale will have to wait a bit longer. Earlier last day, the developer, Inflexion games, took to Twitter to announce the title’s delay.

In a post, the developers said that the decision to delay Nightingale was for two reasons. The main, and the biggest, is the game upgrading to Unreal Engine 5. The team internally reviewed the engine and decided to upgrade rather than wait.

“The move is based on two considerations: The first is an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5″, the announcement read.
“After reviewing the potential UE5 has to offer, we decided on upgrading now rather than waiting until after release.”
The second reason Inflexion Games mentions is providing key improvements, bolstering content and polishing gameplay throughout the delayed time in Nightingale. The developer wanted to deliver the best experience and fulfil their promise of what the game’s universe will offer the players hence the delay.
“Inflexion Games is committed to delivering the best possible experience and fulfilling the promise of what Nightingale’s universe of realms has to offer players”, the post read.
“To achieve that the additional time will allow the team to make key improvements, bolster content and polish gameplay.”
Inflexion Games also says that players will see more development updates about Nightingale in the meantime. The team didn’t announce the new release date but assured us that they’d have more news soon.
Nightingale is an upcoming shared-world survival crafting game set in a new fantasy universe. Players will build and survive throughout expansive realms and can play the game in co-op or solo. Check out the gameplay trailer shown in the summer game fest back in June.
Nightingale will launch in the first half of 2023 on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
