Pokemon Scarlet & Violet might’ve received public scrutiny over its various aspects. However, that hasn’t stopped the title from becoming one of the biggest launches for Japanese developer and console maker Nintendo. It also became the biggest physical launch for any software in Japan.
Unfortunately, while criticism for bugs in the game is already there, it seems Pokemon Scarlet & Violet got entangled in another issue (via VGC). The Battle Stadium Mode, which is the multiplayer portion of the title, reportedly uses the same RNG seed for every battle. This is claimed by the Twitter user Sibuna_Switch.

For the uninitiated, this essentially means that the random numbers the game calculates for moves in-game are the same every time. Because of that, players can exploit this to know when to perform a particular move to gain the upper hand.
Multiple setups will work — an easy one is Fake Out + Sheer Cold as long as the opponent does not move before you.
The fixed RNG seed is why moves with under 91% accuracy always miss on the first turn, as was first noticed here:https://t.co/pWfIud2swP

The above tweet shows the problem in action in the form of a video. It is currently not clear why the RNG for online battles currently works like this. Theoretically, however, GameFreak can change this through an update. That is if the claims are true and if they want to.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet is the next entry in the long-running monster-collecting RPG by GameFreak and Nintendo. The game is currently out, exclusively on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch OLED.
