Fresh data just surfaced, revealing that Redfall has earned itself a dubious title as one of the most poorly rated games of all time on Steam. The highly anticipated game made its debut in early May 2023, but it’s only received a mixed reception. Its current Metacritic score is a mere 59, while the user score for Redfall on Metacritic is even lower at a dismal 2.9. The PC version of the game is doing even worse, with a score of only 1.8.
Players have been plagued with a host of problems since Redfall’s release, including AI issues and numerous bugs. Disappointed fans are leaving negative reviews, causing the game to receive a Mostly Negative rating on Steam. Unfortunately, it appears that Redfall has firmly established itself as one of the worst games in Steam’s history.
Gather ’round, folks, for a list of the most reviled games on Steam. And joining the ignominious ranks is none other than Redfall, the latest in a long line of letdowns. According to Steam 250, Redfall scores a lowly 2.85, earning it a spot among the 14 bottom-of-the-barrel games on the platform.
At the very bottom of the heap is War of the Three Kingdoms, with Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction close behind. But don’t let the AAA label fool you, as even Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Battlefield 2042 find themselves mired in the mud at spots 25 and 28. Oof, that’s gotta hurt.
In a recent interview, Phil Spencer, the top dog at Xbox, acknowledged Redfall’s disappointing launch and expressed that Microsoft would take a closer look at its processes to avoid such circumstances in the future. The interview also touched on Redfall’s lack of 60 FPS gameplay on the Xbox Series X version, which is scheduled to arrive later via an update.
While Redfall tries to pick up its broken pieces on Xbox and PC, Microsoft is all set to unleash its next big title – Starfield. The gaming giant is creating hype around Starfield with its upcoming presentation, aptly named Starfield Direct, which is scheduled to air immediately after the Xbox Games Showcase starting at 10 am PT on June 11.
