Striking Distance Studio’s survival horror game The Callisto Protocol is slowly gaining traction and excitement among the genre fans. Directed by Glenn Schofield, who worked on EA’s Dead Space series, the game plans to bring the sci-fi horror genre back.
With the game going gold, and the launch a month away, thousands of players are excited to get their hands on it. However, a recent season passes announcement kind of raised eyebrows all over the place.

As per the recent update on the game’s Steam page, the season pass of The Callisto Protocol will contain new player death animation. Earlier, in many instances, the studio showcased the glorious player death animations in-game. This will join the typical season-pass offerings by the studio – a new story DLC, new areas and a new mode.
As per the ‘Contagion Bundle’, it will add thirteen new death animations for Jacob. Later on, Glenn Schofield, the CEO of Striking Distance Studios, clarified that the death animations in-game are post-launch add-ons to The Callisto Protocol. Furthermore, he assured everyone that they are not holding anything back from the main game and that work on the new death animation hasn’t even begun.
To be clear: We’re not holding anything back from the main game for the season pass. We haven’t even started work on this content yet. It's all new stuff that we’ll be working on in the new year. Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths, so we’re making it a priority next year.
