Valorant released the trailer for their 22nd agent of the game, a Sentinel last night. Deadlock, a Norwegian agent will join the roster among other Sentinel agents such as Chamber, Sage, Cypher, and Killjoy with the coming update on June 27. We have yet to explore the agent’s resourcefulness as it hasn’t been released, but we can speculate on the possibilities of her abilities. This article will provide an in-depth analysis of her abilities.
What does Deadlock’s kit consist of?
Deadlock slows down her rivals on the field by utilizing a variety of advanced technologies. She also delivers a deadly ultimate that terrorizes enemies when no one else is present. Her abilities are as follows:
- Sonic Sensor (Q): The invisible trap is thrown and scans a designated area, activating when enemies generate sufficient noise through footsteps, bullets, or abilities. Upon activation, the trap concusses all nearby opponents within its range. Players must strategically utilize this tool to disorient their adversaries.
- Barrier Mesh (E): Barrier Mesh creates a 4-way barrier shield that prevents enemy movements. It’s a throwable disc, that when deployed will create 4 different but destructible barriers that will restrict enemy movement. Players can destroy the ability by shooting at the discs located at the intersections of the barriers. However, it is worth noting, this ability does not stop bullets from either side of the barrier.
- GravNet (C): The throwable grenade, similar to Raze’s Paint Shells, offers versatility in usage. Players can throw it over long distances using the primary fire or at close range using the alt-fire. Upon impact, it compels affected opponents to crouch and significantly reduces their movement speed within its area of effect.
- Annihilation (X): Deadlock equips a Nanowire Accelerator. On using the ability, it releases a pulse of nanowires that captures and cocoons the first enemy hit. It drags that player to the origin point of the ability and will die if it reaches that point, the opponent team can shoot down the wires to release the player before they reach the origin point of the ability.
