The Witcher 3 fans are in for some positive news. After announcing the free next-gen update for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S launch schedule to be in December, CD Projekt Red officially confirmed the release date. Not only that, they showed all the new features getting added to The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update.
The update will launch on December 14 for the aforementioned platforms. Players who own the game will get the update for free. The rest of the people can grab it as a standalone purchase for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

The Witcher 3 next-gen update will feature various visual, performance and technical enhancements. This includes ray-tracing support, faster load times on consoles, better foliage quality, improved SSR and support for FSR 2.1 and DLSS 3. The update also brings in cross-progression seen in Cyberpunk 2077.
Apart from visual changes, the update will also bring a photo mode, an alternative camera option, an alternative quick sign casting option, map filters and more. The update also brings in quest fixes for “From Ofier’s Distant Shores” and others.
Finally, The Witcher 3 next-gen update integrates fan-favourite mods into the title, a Netflix show DLC which includes alternative looks for Dandelion and Nilfgaardian soldiers. Furthermore, it also adds a new quest.
