Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake was first announced back in September 2020 with a launch date of January 2021. However, after massive backlashes, the game kept on observing a series of delays. After two years, fans are still wondering whether the game will be releasing anytime soon or not.
Ubisoft officially announced that the game wasn’t canceled and the development was handed to Ubisoft Montreal. As a result, they canceled all the pre-orders they had and currently working to give a product fans will appreciate.
What happened to Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake?
Back in November 2022, Ubisoft provided an official post related to the current state of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time Remake. In there they mentioned that the game is still in development and made no comments on the release date.
Ubisoft said that they will provide release information whenever they feel like the game is ready for the players. At the moment, Ubisoft Montreal is only focusing on creating Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake and no other title like Warrior Within or so.
When Prince of Persia Sands of Time Remake was originally announced, it met with a lot of backlash for how it looked. While Ubisoft has pulled off a great-looking PoP game with Forgotten Sands, the remake merely looked cartoonish.

Thus, Ubisoft decided to recreate the game again, so that these critiques can be used for their upcoming. Since it has been almost years, there are chances Ubisoft might showcase the remake in the next Ubi Forward 2023.
However, before that leaks can come out regarding the game and fans might get some updates during that period. Until then fans have to be patient while the company prepares the game to play and relive the past.
