Valorant is finally making a return to China after a total of one and a half years. This official announcement comes from The National Press and Publication Administration of China on December 28, 2022. Along with Riot Games’ shooter game, there are 45 other video games that also got permits to release their games across the nation.
The Chinese government always has been strict with the topic of games and regulated it to their desire. However, that seems to be changing a bit after the recent move made now.
China is now allowing Valorant and other games to penetrate their market
China is known for being one of the biggest gaming markets around the globe. However, there are instances where the government is known for banning games from time to time. Valorant being of these games that was not allowed to stay in the Chinese gaming environment.

While Valorant has a huge fanbase around the world, especially in the Asian region, China was the only nation that wasn’t on the list. With the addition of the game in the nation, there is high chance many will shift to it as many are acquainted with CSGO.
The Chinese professional gaming scene is vast and has shown great performances with titles like League of Legends, CSGO, and other esports titles. So, it would be interesting to see how the nation performs when it comes to Valorant.

The addition of Valorant in the Chinese region is great for the community and shows great hopes for 2023. Riot Games might make updated announcements regarding the inclusion of Chinese teams in the next Valorant Champions Tour.
So kicking off a new year with the inclusion of another esports title in these Chinese provinces looks promising. Additionally it would interesting to see what the Chinese community has to offer when they are reintroduced with Valorant.
