Ubisoft is rumored to be working on a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag considered one of their finest games. This installment, known for its pirate theme, is hailed as one of the standout titles in the Assassin’s Creed series. Edward Kenway, a pirate, finds himself on a run when he proceeds to don the garbs of the traitorous Ducan Walpole, an Assassin gone rogue.
The rumor surfaced after Kotaku revealed the source of the creation from an anonymous tipper. Fans are excited about the remake as they will get to take a trip down memory lane on one of the most dauntless yet exciting games ever made.
What do we know about the remake?
Anonymous sources have informed Kotaku that the Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake is in early development. Due to this, the game will take a couple more years to complete. According to reports, the development of this remake is being led by Ubisoft Singapore’s team.
Kotaku has also reached out to Ubisoft for an official comment, but they had no comments regarding the same. This puts fans in jeopardy since Ubisoft is very strict with their leaks. No specific remake details are out yet, but potential improvements may include ray-traced graphics and enhanced gameplay mechanics.
Black Flag‘s known for its splendid ship mechanics, a completely new mechanic for the Assassin’s Creed series that changed how the game played out. Assassin’s Creed Rogue revisited this mechanic, but it fell short in terms of matching the fluidity and level of detail found in the original.
Remaking a game that is 80 percent water will be difficult and indeed a tedious task to undertake. Skull and Bones, Ubisoft Singapore’s other major video game, has not received any recent updates as of now. The game’s absence from the Ubisoft Showcase 2023 leaves fans in suspense about its release date.
